Third-party testing services for certificates of analysis besides Janoshik: Janoshik: Gold standard for peptide community, ~$143, 10-14 day turnaround…

Mass spectrometry confirmation for certificates of analysis: beyond HPLC purity, mass spec tells you the molecule's exact molecular weight. This confirms identity — not just purity.

Why this matters: HPLC can show you a "pure" compound, but if it's pure of the WRONG compound, purity is meaningless. Mass spec at m/z 4113.58 Da confirms it's actually semaglutide. My Janoshik report includes both HPLC and mass spec.

If your testing provider only offers HPLC, consider upgrading to include mass spec for at least your first batch from a new vendor.

Agreed, and mass spec answers a question purity does not: identity.

Bookmarking. The distinction being drawn above is the one nobody else makes. I will report back once I have actually tried it.

My HPLC chromatogram analysis for certificates of analysis — I sent my batch to Janoshik and here's what the results showed:

Main peak retention time: 15.6 minutes (consistent with semaglutide reference standard)
Peak purity: 99.4%
Related substances: 0.6% (single impurity at 9.7 minutes — likely a synthesis intermediate)
Mass spec: m/z 4113.6 (matches expected molecular weight)

This is a clean result. The mass spec confirmation is particularly important — it proves the molecule is actually semaglutide and not a substitution.

Two reports on the same product from two laboratories, four percentage points apart, and no method stated on either.

Vendor quality matters when discussing certificates of analysis. I've tested my last 4 batches through Janoshik and purity has ranged from 99.1% to 100.5%. Consistency is key.

For anyone new: always request the COA, and consider independent verification. The $300 for a Janoshik test is worth the peace of mind.

Moderator note: leaving this open. It is being argued well and the disagreement is the useful part. Carry on.
