Today marks exactly 1 year on brand Mounjaro. I've been tracking EVERYTHING in a spreadsheet because I'm that person. Here's my complete journey for anyone starting out or considering tirz. Stats: 38F, 5'7", starting weight 267 lbs THE FULL TIMELINE: Weeks 1-4 (2.5mg) - Weight: 267 → 260 (-7 lbs, mostly water) - Side effects: mild nausea days 1-3 of each injection, slight constipation, sulfur burps (THE WORST) - Appetite: barely changed - Energy: slightly lower - Mood: anxious about side effects, otherwise normal Weeks 5-8 (5mg) - Weight: 260 → 249 (-11 lbs) - Side effects: nausea returned first week of titration then faded, constipation worsened (started Miralax daily), sulfur burps continued, injection site itching - Appetite: definitely reduced, first time I left food on my plate involuntarily - Energy: normalizing - Mood: excited about weight loss, slight emotional flatness Weeks 9-12 (7.5mg) - Weight: 249 → 237 (-12 lbs) - Side effects: sulfur burps FINALLY stopped, constipation manageable with Miralax + fiber, mild hair shedding started (telogen effluvium), period became irregular - Appetite: significantly reduced, food noise mostly gone - Energy: good, stable throughout day - Mood: great, confidence building

Weeks 13-16 (10mg) - Weight: 237 → 226 (-11 lbs) - Side effects: hair shedding peaked (terrifying but expected — it's from the weight loss, not the drug), constipation improving, one episode of reactive hypoglycemia after eating plain rice - Appetite: could easily skip meals, had to set reminders to eat - Energy: excellent - Mood: best it's been in years Weeks 17-20 (10mg — stayed here) - Weight: 226 → 220 (-6 lbs, slowing down) - Side effects: hair shedding slowing, constipation mostly resolved (still take Miralax 3x/week), skin getting loose on arms and inner thighs - Appetite: stable, eating 1200-1500 cal without effort - Energy: excellent - Mood: very stable Weeks 21-32 (12.5mg) - Weight: 220 → 205 (-15 lbs over 12 weeks) - Side effects: new side effect — dry eyes (weird, looked it up, possibly related to reduced inflammation or lacrimal gland changes), hair shedding stopped, skin looseness more noticeable - Appetite: very controlled - Energy: high - Mood: occasional emotional days but overall positive - Notable: first blood panel since starting — all metabolic markers dramatically improved (see table below)

Blood panel at week 28: | Marker | Before tirz | Week 28 | Change | |--------|------------|---------|--------| | A1C | 6.0% | 5.2% | -0.8% | | Fasting glucose | 108 | 84 | -22% | | Total cholesterol | 234 | 178 | -24% | | LDL | 148 | 102 | -31% | | HDL | 42 | 58 | +38% | | Triglycerides | 198 | 94 | -53% | | ALT | 52 | 24 | -54% | | hs-CRP | 8.4 | 1.2 | -86% | | Blood pressure | 138/88 | 118/74 | normalized | My doctor literally said "your labs look like a different person." The hs-CRP drop is insane — 86% reduction in systemic inflammation. Weeks 33-44 (12.5mg continued) - Weight: 205 → 194 (-11 lbs over 12 weeks, definitely slower) - Side effects: dry eyes persisted (using artificial tears), mild fatigue some weeks (possibly related to caloric intake being too low — increased to 1500-1600/day and it resolved), loose skin becoming my main cosmetic concern - Appetite: stable, can eat normally but satisfied with less - Energy: good when eating enough - Mood: stable Weeks 45-52 (12.5mg — present) - Weight: 194 → 189 (-5 lbs, approaching plateau) - Side effects: mostly resolved, just dry eyes and loose skin - Appetite: finding a new normal, can enjoy meals again without overeating - Energy: great - Mood: best mental health of my adult life honestly

SUMMARY: | Metric | Start | 1 year | Change | |--------|-------|--------|--------| | Weight | 267 lbs | 189 lbs | -78 lbs (-29.2%) | | BMI | 41.8 | 29.6 | -12.2 | | Waist | 44" | 33" | -11" | | Clothing size | 22 | 12 | -10 sizes | | A1C | 6.0% | 5.2% | -0.8% | | Blood pressure | 138/88 | 118/74 | normalized | Side effects I experienced (sorted by duration): 1. Sulfur burps — weeks 1-10 (resolved) 2. Nausea — weeks 1-6 intermittent (resolved) 3. Constipation — weeks 3-20 (mostly resolved, occasional) 4. Hair shedding — weeks 10-24 (resolved, hair growing back) 5. Irregular periods — weeks 8-28 (resolved, regular again) 6. Injection site reactions — weeks 5-16 (resolved) 7. Reactive hypoglycemia — 3 episodes total (learned to avoid naked carbs) 8. Dry eyes — week 22-present (ongoing, manageable) 9. Loose skin — week 18-present (ongoing, considering treatment options) 10. Fatigue — intermittent, correlated with undereating What I'd tell someone starting: - Trust the titration schedule - Protein, protein, protein (I aim for 130g/day) - Don't panic about hair loss — it comes back - Miralax is your friend - Take progress photos monthly — the mirror lies, photos don't - Get bloodwork every 3-4 months - This drug changed my life. Not an exaggeration. ❤️

This is the most detailed tirz timeline I've ever read. Saving this entire thread. Thank you for being so thorough. Questions: 1. The sulfur burps — how bad were they really? I keep hearing about them and I'm dreading it 2. Did you exercise throughout? What kind? 3. Would you do anything differently?
