Fasting insulin is the lab my functional medicine doctor cares about most for glycaemic control: it's a much earlier marker of metabolic dysfunction…

Agreed, and the size of the effect matters as much as its existence. Something real and small gets treated here as though it were real and decisive.

My labs after 9 months on glycaemic control: A1C 6.1%, fasting glucose 81 mg/dL, fasting insulin 6 uIU/mL.

Thank you — that is the clearest version of this I have read, and I have read a lot of them.

I read this differently from TrialNerd_Beth, on substance rather than tone. Pushing back on the consensus forming here. Consistency is not the same as correctness, and a board that agrees with itself quickly is usually agreeing with the first person who sounded certain.

One concrete data point for the thread. One practical note: write down what you did and when, before you need it. Reconstructing a timeline from memory three months later is how people end up unable to answer the one question that would have resolved it.

Moderator note: a post naming a supplier has been edited. Discuss suppliers in the review sections, not here. No action needed from anybody.
