Thirteen weeks at the same dose with no change on the scale, and I have gone from assuming it was the drug to assuming it was me and back several times.

So the question, as narrowly as I can put it: how to distinguish a genuine plateau from measurement noise and creeping intake, before changing anything.

Tell me what I have not thought of.

Plateau breaking story with a stall: I stalled at 197 lbs for 6 weeks. Tried everything — calorie cycling, increased exercise, more water. Nothing worked.

What finally broke the plateau: increasing protein to 150g/day. Lost 9 lbs in the next 2 weeks. Plateaus are temporary — they always break if you stay consistent.

LarryQC_SD has the substance of this right. The condition it depends on is worth stating. Genuine plateaus happen too, and the mechanism is metabolic adaptation plus a smaller body. A body 20kg lighter needs meaningfully fewer calories at rest and less to move, so the deficit that produced the first phase is arithmetically smaller now. The options are the honest ones — increase the deficit slightly, increase activity, or accept the new plateau — and escalating the dose is only one of them.

This is my experience too, for whatever a second data point is worth.

Adding the clinical framing, because it changes how the question reads. The honest answer is that the effect is real, the magnitude is contested, and the individual variation is larger than either. Those three things can all be true at once, and most arguments here are two people holding different parts of that.

That is the short version; the long version is somebody else's post.
