Helpful anti-nausea foods for hydration users:

  • Ginger (tea, chews, supplements — all work)
  • Peppermint (tea or oil capsules)
  • Plain crackers or rice cakes
  • Bananas (easy to digest, replenish potassium)
  • Clear broth (hydration + sodium)
  • Small amounts of protein (chicken breast, plain Greek yogurt)

Avoid: greasy foods, spicy foods, large meals, lying down after eating. Keep meals small and frequent — I do 5-6 mini meals/day.

One concrete data point for the thread. Worth knowing that eGFR estimates depend on creatinine, and creatinine depends on muscle mass. Losing muscle raises eGFR artificially, which flatters the number while the kidney is unchanged.

Electrolyte monitoring on hydration — especially important during early titration when GI effects are most pronounced:

  • Sodium: 140 mEq/L (normal, but was low at week 2 from vomiting)
  • Potassium: 4.0 mEq/L (supplement if below 3.5)
  • Magnesium: 2.0 mg/dL (supplementing with glycinate)
  • Phosphorus: 3.2 mg/dL (normal)

Low electrolytes cause muscle cramps, heart palpitations, and fatigue — symptoms often blamed on the medication itself. Check your levels before assuming it's a drug side effect.

One thing that is still open after raj_cambridge’s answer:

How to read eGFR during rapid weight loss, given that creatinine depends on muscle mass and muscle mass is changing?

Reporting back.

Coming back a few months on. It held. Nothing dramatic to report, which is the report.
