ATTAIN trial (survodutide) context for liver and MASH: survodutide, a GLP-1/glucagon dual agonist, showed -18.7% body weight at 46 weeks in the Phase…

Liver enzyme update related to liver and MASH: I had mildly elevated ALT/AST at baseline (likely NAFLD). After 11 months on GLP-1 therapy:

MarkerBaselineCurrentNormal Range
ALT58257-56 U/L
AST512310-40 U/L
GGT88399-48 U/L
ALP988044-147 U/L

FibroScan also improved — liver stiffness from 10.5 kPa to 6.2 kPa. The evidence for GLP-1 agonists in NAFLD/NASH is very promising.

Fatty liver on an incidental scan two years ago and nobody followed it up.

Liver imaging follow-up for liver and MASH: FibroScan at baseline showed CAP score 340 dB/m (moderate steatosis) and stiffness 9.8 kPa (possible fibrosis). Diagnosed with NAFLD.

After 14 months: CAP dropped to 243 dB/m (minimal steatosis) and stiffness normalized to 6.1 kPa. Hepatologist says the liver is essentially healing itself as the metabolic stress resolves.

GLP-1 agonists may become first-line NASH therapy. The Phase 3 data on semaglutide for NASH is very promising.

Adding the part of the answer the thread has not reached. If two explanations both fit, the useful question is which one predicts something the other does not. That is answerable; arguing about which sounds more plausible is not.

A narrower follow-up, since the general answer is now clear:

How long did you give it before you decided it was working?

OP back with an update, since a thread like this is useless without one.

Update, and it is the boring outcome: nothing was wrong. The measurement I was reading had moved less than its own week-to-week variation, which somebody said upthread and I did not believe.
