1. Sulfur burps: They were BAD. Like rotten eggs. Came out of nowhere, no warning. Sometimes 10-15 times a day. I'd be in meetings trying not to burp. My husband threatened to sleep in the guest room lol. Tips that helped: eating smaller meals, avoiding high-fat foods, taking Gas-X, ginger tea. They stopped completely around week 10 and never came back. So it's temporary. 2. Exercise: I walked 6,000-10,000 steps daily throughout. Started resistance training at month 3 (3x/week, basic machines at Planet Fitness). Now I do a proper lifting program 4x/week. I credit the resistance training for preserving muscle mass — my body composition is WAY better than someone who lost 78 lbs without lifting would expect. 3. What I'd do differently: - Start resistance training from day 1, not month 3 - Take collagen peptides from the beginning (might help with skin elasticity, jury's out on evidence but low risk) - Not panic about the hair loss — I cried for days when I saw clumps in the shower. Turns out it's normal and temporary - Eat more protein earlier — I was only getting 80g/day for the first few months - Get a CGM earlier to catch those reactive hypo episodes before they happened

Your data tracking is incredible. Have you considered sharing the actual spreadsheet? I'm starting next month and would love to use a similar template. Also that hs-CRP drop from 8.4 to 1.2... that alone is worth the medication. An hs-CRP of 8.4 means you had significant systemic inflammation. 1.2 is low risk. That's a massive cardiovascular risk reduction independent of everything else.

I'll make a Google Sheets template and share it! Will post the link in a separate thread. The tracking includes: weekly weight, weekly waist measurement, daily calorie/protein intake (from MacroFactor), side effects log, injection date/dose/site, monthly photos, quarterly bloodwork. It takes maybe 5 minutes a day to maintain and it's SO worth it for seeing trends. And yes, the CRP drop was the thing that made my doctor most excited. She said "this is what we'd expect from starting a statin AND an anti-inflammatory AND losing 50+ lbs combined. You got all of it from one drug." 📉

Currently at week 11 on tirz and going through the hair shedding phase. Reading that yours resolved and grew back is so reassuring. I found myself googling "tirzepatide permanent hair loss" at 2am last week in a panic spiral 😩 Your timeline matches mine almost exactly on the side effect progression. Sulfur burps are fading (thank god), constipation is manageable, and the hair thing just started. Nice to know it follows a predictable pattern. Thank you for this incredibly detailed post. This is what the internet should be. ❤️

the hair loss is BY FAR the most psychologically difficult side effect. But please know: - It's telogen effluvium, caused by the metabolic stress of rapid weight loss - It happens with ANY rapid weight loss method (surgery, crash diets, etc.) - It typically peaks at months 3-6 and resolves by months 8-12 - The hair DOES grow back — I have a ton of new growth now, little baby hairs everywhere - Biotin, adequate protein, and managing stress can help If it helps: nobody else noticed my hair shedding. I noticed because I was looking for it. My husband didn't notice until I pointed it out. We're our own worst critics. You're in the hardest part. It gets better. Keep going. 💪
