They are two different exemptions from the same federal requirements and they buy different things.

Bookmarking. The distinction being drawn above is the one nobody else makes.

Adding the clinical framing, because it changes how the question reads.

International shipping tracking for cross-border ordering orders: my experience with customs in the US when ordering from overseas:

Held at customs for 5 days, then released.

Tips: always include a copy of your prescription, declare medication properly on customs forms, keep quantities reasonable (personal use = 3 month supply max), and use a vendor who has experience shipping to your country.

Resolution therefore closed the doors unevenly, and the asymmetry follows from the bulks lists.

I read this differently from roxy_nash, on substance rather than tone. A research-chemical supplier selling lyophilised powder labelled research use only is not compounding and is not claiming to. It is a different legal universe with no pharmacy oversight, no patient relationship and no content guarantee, and conflating the two in these threads helps nobody.

The variables that decide how a cross-border order goes are declaration wording, the destination country's import rules for prescription medicines,…

My experience ordering cross-border ordering internationally: I've ordered from a UK pharmacy. Customs can be hit or miss.

Shipping time: 7-14 days
Customs clearance: smooth, no issues
Quality: Janoshik tested at 97.4% purity

International ordering adds complexity but can save 60-80% compared to US prices. Research your country's import laws first.

Moderator note: leaving this open. It is being argued well and the disagreement is the useful part. Report rather than reply if it drifts again.
